I am currently working to bring the Shafer Wealth Academy to life.  Soon I will have a dedicated web site for your perusal.  I thought I would take a few minutes of time to explain why I decided to bring this idea to life.

Ample research has demonstrated that people who acquire wealth think and behave differently than those who aren’t able to acquire wealth.  Other evidence (and common sense) points out that those that acquire wealth do indeed have more freedom to do the things they want to do.  In essense if good deeds for the community is your goal, than the freedom to do that comes from wealth.  Now, here is another little publicized thing about wealth.  Despite the media’s attention on celebrities’ marriage failures, those that are on the top of the economic pyramid are less likely to divorce.  So in short, financial wealth has been shown to spread to something akin to real wealth or wealth in all parts of one’s life.

Since I have been in the financial services industry, I have introduced folks to ideas and products to help them produce wealth.  Many of these folks, quite frankly, were unable to appreciate these ideas because of pre-existing financial programming.  This financial programming was designed and propagated by Wall Street firms, banks, and their army of sales people who are concerned with their own profits more than yours.

Shafer Wealth Academy is designed to help people both intellectually and emotionally get to a place where they can, by themselves, see through the mainstream propaganda surrounding their financial lives.  Its core element is teaching as a transformative experience.  This is not a quick or easy thing to do, but I believe it has the ability to transform lives.  I am very excited about the opportunity to positively change lives.

I hope the fine readers of “Uncommon Financial Wisdom” will join me on this journey.
