Convincing people that reality is real! Buy my e-book. February 3, 2009

One of the biggest obstacle in changing one’s behavior is to get people to see the world as it really is.  There is a gulf between the reality of their existence and the way it exists in their mind.  This is most acutely apparent in people with eating disorders who see themselves as fat, but are really wasting away.  Or people who drink to much alcohol, not realizing their inability to function or even talk coherently.

Unfortunately, that is where many people reside in their financial lives.  They may have only a net worth of $100,000 or less, yet they think they are on schedule to retire at 65 or 66.  Reality is these people are not on schedule to retire anytime.  They might be 35 or 40 or 45 years old, and still think that there is much time to plan for retirement.  Or their company might have stopped matching inside their 401Ks, or they might have lost a job, or they might just be overwhelmed with getting through the day and feel there is no time to plan financially (so they go to a “expert” who fails them).

I have written an e-book that allows folks to sample reality.  Sure the statistics are alarming on people being unprepared to retire, but most folks ignore that reality.  The book is written as a call to arms for people to change their financial behavior so they and their families can have a brighter financial future.  I have yet to have anyone read the book and do anything but thank me for writing it.  Kind readers of my blog, I encourage you to purchase it and consider what the truth in it means to you and your financial future.
